We are Friends of the Carp Hills, a volunteer-run organization dedicated to preserving the Carp Hills for the benefit of nature and the community in perpetuity.
The issue: Without careful stewardship the special ecology of the Carp Hills will be lost for future generations due to over use and indiscriminate use.
Our challenge: We want to strike a balance between the desire to experience the natural beauty of the Carp Hills with protection and conservation.
Our key goal: We want to preserve areas of the Carp Hills wilderness where there is little human activity and offer specific areas for public recreation.
How we work: We engage collaboratively with landowners, the City of Ottawa, government agencies, businesses, and community groups to preserve areas of wilderness for conservation and public recreation in the Carp Hills.
Friends of the Carp Hills is an incorporated, non-profit organization. We are not a registered charity.
